A community notification meeting has been set for 6 p.m. Monday in the large meeting room at the Austin Public Library to provide information about a Level 3 sex offender who is moving to Austin.
Robert Carl Goodew, 21, will move to Austin on Monday, according to the Austin Police Department. He has a history of physical assault and attempted sexual contact with a juvenile male, according to police. Goodew will live in the 700 block of Eighth Street Northeast.
State law requires that law enforcement release this information to the public. Level 3 predatory sex offenders are considered at greatest risk of re-offending.
Information on the offender, the notification program and safety issues will be provided at the meeting. Representatives from the Minnesota Department of Corrections and Austin police will be available to answer questions. The library is at 323 Fourth Ave. N.E.
