ORONOCO — A proposed 161-kilovolt transmission line in eastern Olmsted County will be the subject of a public information meeting Nov. 29 in Oronoco.
The 29- to 30-mile line would run north-south through Farmington and Haverhill townships, between a Rochester Public Utilities substation near Chester and the proposed CapX2020 345-kilovolt transmission line. It is commonly called the "Chester line."
The meeting begins at 6 p.m. at the Oronoco Community Center, 115 Second St. N.W., and is scheduled to last three hours. It is being held to provide information about the project and identify issues and alternative routes to be studied during an upcoming environmental assessment.
