EYOTA — Two Wisconsin men are in custody today after authorities say they were in a park after hours — with an assortment of drugs in the car.
An Olmsted County Sheriff's deputy was on routine patrol in Eyota about 1:40 a.m. Thursday when he spotted a vehicle parked in a city park; two people were inside.
As the deputy spoke with the occupants he smelled marijuana, said Capt. Scott Behrns, giving him probable cause to search the car.
The deputy found a small amount of methamphetamine and about 20 grams of marijuana, the report says, as well as about 50 pills of varying medication. The prescriptions were not in the men's names, Behrns said.
The 24-year-olds, one from Superior, Wis., and the other from Stevens Points, Wis., told the deputy they were on their way to a Guns N' Roses concert in Las Vegas.
