RED WING — Two men were arrested July 5 for allegedly selling methamphetamine, cocaine and marijuana out of a Treasure Island Resort & Casino hotel room.
Lawrence Darryl Brown, 51, of Red Wing, and Lucas James Sullivan, 26, of Hager City, Wis., face identical charges of first-degree drug sale of 10 grams or more, first-degree drug possession 25 grams or more and possession of drug paraphernalia. The first two charges are felonies, while the latter is a petty misdemeanor.
Goodhue District Court Judge Lawrence Clark set unconditional bail at $50,000 each. Sullivan's next court date was set for July 19. Brown's was slated for Aug. 2.
According to the criminal complaint, two members of the Red Wing Police Department enlisted the help of the Prairie Island Tribal Police Department to execute a search warrant of Room 440 at the hotel. Brown was known to be inside, and there was an active felony warrant out for his arrest, according to the complaint.
After surveillance showed "short-term traffic" visiting the room, authorities used a passkey to enter the room. Brown and Sullivan were found in the room, where various drugs, baggies and drug paraphernalia were observed. Brown was also in possession of $735 cash, the complaint said.

A search of the room found the following: 1.3 grams of cocaine, 4.1 grams of marijuana, 29 grams of meth, a scale, numerous baggies and three cell phones, the complaint said.
Brown, who was convicted of a controlled substance offense in Goodhue County earlier this year, could face a maximum penalty of 40 years in prison and $1 million fine if convicted of the new charges.
