ROCHESTER — Everyone is invited to the 30th annual Agri News Farm Show to see what is new in the agriculture industry and to hear from the Commissioner of the Minnesota Department of Agriculture, Dave Frederickson.
Frederickson will speak during a ribbon-cutting ceremony that will celebrate the opening of this year's show. The ceremony begins at 10 a.m. on March 21.
The Agri News Farm Show takes place March 21 from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and March 22 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Olmsted County Fairgrounds in Rochester. It is held in buildings 1 and 2 of the Graham Arena Complex, 1570 Fairgrounds Avenue. The ribbon-cutting ceremony will be in the complex's lobby.
Frederickson will speak about the Minnesota Agriculture Water Quality Certification Program. It is being developed to enhance the state's water quality by accelerating adoption of on-farm water quality practices. Candidates are currently being sought for its advisory committee. He will also discuss legislative updates in terms of the department's initiatives.
"Agri News has a long record of bringing important information to Minnesota’s farmers," said Frederickson. "I have enjoyed reading the publication for years, and I am happy to help celebrate their special occasion."
