GRAND MEADOW — The Rail Runners Rail Road Club will fill a room at the Grand Meadow Business Center with more than half a mile of model railroad track for an open house from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 19 and 20 at the Grand Meadow Business Center.
The HO-gauge layout will be in room 119 of the center, 209 First St. N.E., and include two main lines, each 210 feet long, that take trains more than five minutes to travel. In addition, the two-level layout includes sidings, a depot, a gravel pit, various industries and open countryside. The trains include freight trains and historic passenger trains that ran in the years before Amtrak.
Club members will be on hand to describe the cars.
Established in 2004, Rail Runners has about a dozen members from Rochester, Dodge Center, Kasson and Albert Lea. The club meets at the Grand Meadow Business Center on Wednesday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Visitors are welcome.
