Motorcyclist injured in crash in north Rochester

A St. Paul man escaped serious injury Monday when the motorcycle he was driving collided with a car in north Rochester.

Ibrahim Fayez Abusaroor, 25, was northbound on North Broadway when a westbound car driven by Aaron Bernard Love, 50, turned from Northern Hills Drive onto Broadway, the report says.

Abusaroor, who was in the right lane, struck the side of Love's vehicle, swerved across traffic, hit the median and was thrown from the motorcycle, said Capt. John Sherwin.

"He was wearing a helmet, which probably saved his life," Sherwin said. The forensic mapping unit has been asked to help with the investigation.

Abusaroor was taken by Gold Cross Ambulance to Saint Marys Hospital, where he was listed in fair condition today, according to a hospital spokeswoman.
