New RCTC Child, Youth and Family Studies course

RCTC is offering a new Child, Youth and Family Studies course that can certify you as a child care center teacher in 16 weeks.

In January, students can enroll in RCTC's Child, Youth and Family Studies program for spring semester and can earn 3-6 credits in a semester while attending classes just one day a week.

The traditional face-to-face courses are "stacked" all day on Wednesday afternoon and evening. Students can attend online courses full-time but only need to be on campus one day a week.

TEACH scholarships are available for those who qualify. Students working 20 hours or more each week in a child care center can qualify for the scholarships, which pay for most of the cost of tuition and textbooks.

RCTC will accept applications through Jan. 4 for the spring semester starting Jan. 11. The application fee is waived and can be completed online at rctc.edu/admissions. For more information about the program, please contact RCTC Child, Youth and Family Studies instructor Stacey York at 507-280-3148 or email stacey.york@rctc.edu.
