Stormer succeeds retiring executive director Steve Thornton, who has led the organization for 20 years as it grew from $3.7 million in 1991 to more than $40 million currently. Under Thornton, the foundation created the First Homes Initiative, "which has created over 900 homes for working families" and many other local efforts.

Stormer takes the lead on Feb. 1, 2012.
