BYRON — A Rochester motorist collided with a Byron school bus Wednesday afternoon, but no students were injured.
According to Olmsted County Sheriff's Sgt. Scott Behrens, the accident happened at about 4 p.m. in the 8200 block of Olmsted County Road 25 Southwest in Salem Township.
Bus driver Cynthia Duffy, 52, of rural Dodge Center had dropped off students in a mobile home park and was traveling west on County Road 25. She intended to turn into another driveway in the mobile home park, Behrens said.
Timothy Scott Tuinstra, 31, of Rochester, who also was westbound on County Road 25, struck the front of the bus as it was turning, Behrens said.
The three students in the bus were not injured and Tuinstra refused medical attention at the scene.

Tuinstra told police that he didn't see the turn signal, so he attempted to pass the bus.
Behrens said the bus was inspected and the turn signal appeared to be working.
He said the accident is still under investigation.
