Nominations sought for 10 Who Make a Difference awards

Nominations for the 19th annual 10 Who Make A Difference awards are being sought.

The awards recognize people and groups in southeastern Minnesota and northern Iowa who make their communities better through volunteerism.

Nominations will be accepted through May 4. Forms are available online through the United Way of Olmsted County or by calling 529-4831.

Ten volunteers will be recognized in six categories:

Youth/Youth Group— Recognizes a person or group ages 17 or younger.

Business— Recognizes businesses that encourage employee volunteerism, participate in community service events or provide pro-bono assistance.

Family Unit— Recognizes a family that exemplifies a spirit of "family volunteerism."

Adult— Recognizes a person 18 to 54 years old.

Group— Recognizes the dedication of a group of two or more.

Senior/Senior Group— Recognizes the dedication of a person or group 55 or older.

Winners will receive public recognition June 20 during Rochesterfest. The awards are presented though the United Way of Olmsted County in partnership with KTTC-TV.
