Officials seek truck that hit Stewartville house

STEWARTVILLE — Authorities are asking for the public's help to locate a pickup that plowed into a Stewartville house early today, causing significant damage.

The call came in at 4:07 a.m., sending Olmsted County Sheriff's deputies to the 800 block of Johns Lane Southeast for a report of a vehicle that hit a house.

The impact broke the deck studs and a window, destroyed the central air conditioning unit and caved in a portion of the house, said Capt. Scott Behrns. No one inside was injured, and no damage estimate was available.

The home's occupants were able to get a quick look at the vehicle, the report says, describing it as a dark, full-size pickup with a loud exhaust. It was last seen traveling south on Olmsted County Road 106 Southeast.

Officials are hoping someone recognizes the description, adding that the truck will likely have substantial front-end damage.
