'Oklahoma' to be staged in 1950

1990 — Twenty years ago

Scott Peterson, a senior at Rochester John Marshall and a member of the Order of the Arrow, Troop 99 at Elton Hills School, has received the Eagle Scout award.

1970 — 40 years ago

Dr. Norman Borlaug, who received a Nobel Peace Prize for the development of high yielding grains, boosting food production in the Third World, was awarded an honorary doctorate of science degree from Luther College. Borlaug was raised on a farm in Cresco, Iowa.

1950 — 60 years ago

Dr. Wilhelm won the Rochester Junior Chamber of Commerce lighting contest. He will receive a $50 savings bond.

Rochester playgoers at last will have the opportunity to enjoy the famous Rodgers and Hammerstein’s play, "Oklahoma." The Theater Guild announced three presentations at the Mayo Civic Auditorium in January.
