Onion festival on the menu

WYKOFF — A festival celebrating onions will be Saturday at DreamAcres Farm outside Wykoff.

It begins at 1 p.m. and lasts into the evening, with a Brass Messengers concert at 8 p.m.

According to DreamAcres, it "celebrates our multilayered society through the harvest and enjoyment of a multilayered, multifaceted vegetables."

Dishes include onion soup, salads with fresh onions and DreamAcres’ wood-fired flat breads with caramelized onions.

Performances will begin at 1 p.m. with a stuffed animal show for both parents and children. Children are invited to bring their favorite stuffed animals.

From 3 p.m. to 4 p.m., there will be stories from India by Zaraawar Mistry and Greg Herriges.

At 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. Duwita Wayhu, daughter of Chechep Wayhu of Spring Valley, will perform traditional Balinese dance.

Between dances, the ConSultants of Swing will play while food is being served.

At 8 p.m, the Brass Messengers will perform.
