Osco Drug closes in 1987 after 50 years

1987 — 25 years ago

Osco Drug, after 50 years of operation in Rochester, closed today as part of the city’s planned D-5 redevelopment project. The store was built in 1937 and was the Osco chain’s first outlet store.

1962 — 50 years ago

About 70 people are expected to attend the Exchange Club’s sweetheart luncheon on Valentine's Day at Michaels. The speaker will be Daniel Macken Jr.

Williams Printing, founded in 1924 by Drew Williams, has begun an expansion of 350 square feet of the printing plant at 10 Seventh St. N.W.

Janet Christensen, 13, of Byron, had her story about raising pets published in Child-Life magazine. Janet is a junior leader in the Byron Bees 4-H club.

Traditional Lenten luncheons with education programs for Rochester High School and Rochester Junior College girls will begin on Wednesdays at the YWCA.
