MINNEAPOLIS — The Post-Bulletin placed second in the General Excellence category of the 2013 Minnesota Associated Press Sports Association writing, editing and design contest for state newspapers under 100,000 circulation.
Also, in the Breaking News category, Paul Christian of the P-B sports staff took second place for "Then we heard all the sirens," his story about local runners at the 2013 Boston Marathon when the bombs exploded.
The St. Cloud Times took first in General Excellence, which takes into account excellence of pictures, layout and play of stories and quality of writing, editing and design.
