Parks closed for deer hunts

Several state parks and one Olmsted County park will be closed to the general public later this month because of special hunts to cull the deer herds there. Only hunters with special permits will be allowed access.

The parks and dates are:

• Frontenac State Park (Saturday and Sunday).

• Myre-Big Island State Park (Nov. 26-28).

• Nerstrand Big Woods State Park (Nov. 26-27).

• Whitewater State Park (Saturday and Sunday).

Forestville/Mystery Cave State Park will be wholly or partially open to hunting in all hunting seasons.

Olmsted County's Chester Woods Park will be closed for day use Saturday through Nov. 27 for another special hunt.
