PINE ISLAND — Beau Twaddle, the director of transportation for Pine Island Schools, was arrested last week for a DWI.
The 39-year-old was booked on Tuesday, and may face charges including DWI 0.08 or more, DWI-school bus and DWI-commercial vehicle, according to an incident report from the Goodhue County Sheriff’s Office. According to a call log, Pine Island Public Schools placed the call at 10:06 a.m.
Twaddle has been placed on administrative leave, but the school district declined to provide any more detail. Superintendent Dr. Tamara Berg said in a statement sent to parents in the district that on Tuesday an incident was reported that involved a transportation driver.
"Pine Island Schools takes all allegations and accusations seriously and investigates all incidents," Berg said in the statement. "The incident is currently under investigation and the district will respond appropriately as time allows.
"While the details are limited, please know that it’s always our first priority to ensure the safety of our students," she added.
