Poem: Saint Marys Reservoir

Au revoir,

Blue reservoir

And in its place

In its concrete grace

Is the new one — though oversized —

Let it know that it is prized

No more critics assigning blame

But let's give it a really righteous name:

SAINT MARYS RESERVOIR

A tribute to the original hospital, the patients, the Sisters, the dreaming

The pioneering and present day doctors and teams of healing colleagues, families and visitors streaming

And a tribute to the Mayos' gift to the city of the small but precious St. Mary's Park.

The reservoir a massive monument to history in daylight and in dark

An appropriate reminder, as you see

That the city always was a DMC.
