Pole replacement will affect traffic

Traffic lanes will be closed on parts of Civic Center Drive and First Avenue Northwest for three days starting Wednesday as Rochester Public Utilities replaces a concrete utility pole at the intersection.

The work is weather-dependent but is scheduled to be done by the end of the day Friday, officials said. Traffic restrictions will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. each day.

Civic Center Drive will be restricted to eastbound-only traffic between First Avenue Northwest and North Broadway. Turns north onto First Avenue Northwest will be prohibited.

First Avenue Northwest at Civic Center Drive will be closed to all southbound traffic. Access to businesses on First Avenue north of the intersection will be maintained from the north.

Traffic approaching the intersection from the south will be permitted to turn right onto Civic Center Drive but not left.
