Police find naked man in stranger's home

Rochester police received multiple phone calls Thursday about a man causing disturbances — including swearing and shouting inside an insurance agency and vomiting in a parking ramp — before finding him, naked, inside a stranger's house.

The calls started coming in about 2:15 p.m., but the man had always run away by the time the police were notified.

Eventually, an officer spotted the man — who by then had taken off all his clothes — in the area near North Broadway Avenue and Riverview Heights Drive Northeast. A neighbor told police he saw the man go into a home; the couple who lived there didn't know him and left the home.

The man continued to scream and talk to himself, according to scanner traffic; an officer outside the residence heard the man in the bathroom of the home. Police entered the house and found the man in the shower.

An ambulance was at the scene; it's unclear if the man had mental health issues or was using drugs. No injuries were reported. More information is expected Friday morning.
