Marijuana was found in the car of a 23-year-old Rochester man Saturday night after officers followed him from a gas station, according to the Rochester Police Department.
Officers became suspicious when the man pulled into the Kwik Trip gas station at the 3000 block of Wellner Drive Northeast, made eye contact with police and drove off without buying gas, according to Capt. Brian Winters.
Police stopped the vehicle two blocks away and detected a strong smell of alcohol and saw marijuana paraphernalia, leading to a search of the vehicle, Winters said. Police found 381 grams, or about three-quarters of a pound, of marijuana in the car, Winters said.
The Post-Bulletin generally does not name suspects until they are charged.
