PRESTON — F & M Community Bank in Preston has donated $15,000 to the Preston Area Community Foundation , a gift that will be matched by the Southern Minnesota Initiative Foundation .
The foundation recently announced a major gift fundraising challenge, relying on a dollar-for-dollar match, to all of their community foundations to promote major endowment gifts by matching donations to help grow the philanthropic base in southern Minnesota.
"When we found out about the matching program, we immediately offered to do what we could to get those matching funds," said Dan Christianson, CEO of F & M Community Bank. "After all, how often can we get a 100% return on our investment in the Preston area!"
