RED WING — A Red Wing man was sentenced Friday in Goodhue County District Court to 180 days in jail and 10 years of supervised probation after pleading guilty to criminal sexual conduct with a 14-year-old girl.
Kenneth John Cedar, 18, pleaded guilty to fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct as part of a plea agreement filed May 31. In exchange for pleading guilty to that felony charge, two gross misdemeanor counts of fifth-degree criminal sexual conduct were dismissed.
Cedar will serve his sentence in the Goodhue County Jail, where he has been given credit for 121 days served. He must also attend a sex offender program and register as a predatory offender, among other terms of the sentence imposed by District Court Judge Lawrence Clark.
According to the criminal complaint, Cedar was dropped off in Goodhue by his father on Jan. 22, 2012, to visit two underage females. Cedar was described as "the Internet boyfriend" of the 14-year-old girl. Both the 14-year-old and a 15-year-old victim told authorities that Cedar touched them inappropriately while he was at the house.
