Juan Gerardo Hernandez Ruiz, 22, who was injured in a two-car collision two weeks ago, died Tuesday at Saint Marys Hospital.
Ruiz was born in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. He moved to Rochester in 2007 and worked at Applebee's and TGI Friday's. He is survived by his wife Lourdes and daughter Angelina.
On March 23, Ruiz collided with another car after his car crossed the median on 37th Street Northwest, near the Hy-Vee grocery store. Rachel Jean Arndt Kunert, 30, of Spring Valley, was in the other car. She survived with no serious injuries.
A funeral mass for Ruiz will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at St. Francis of Assisi Church.
