KASSON — A Rochester man has been hospitalized after being stabbed in an apparent robbery Sunday night.
According to Dodge County investigator Jeff Brumfield, the 22-year-old man was traveling on Dodge County Road 9 near U.S. 14 when he pulled over to help a motorist who appeared to be stranded.
When the man got out to help, the motorist pulled out a knife and demanded the Rochester man's wallet, the man told police.
The Rochester man refused to give up his wallet, and the suspect stabbed him in the abdomen, Brumfield said.
The man called police about 9:15 p.m. and a private vehicle took him toward Rochester but stopped so an ambulance could transport him the rest of the way.

Brumfield said police are still looking for the suspect, who was driving a green Dodge Neon with a red hood.
The victim didn't recognize the man, but said he was a white male with scruffy facial hair. He wore blue jeans, a dark sweatshirt or coat, and a brown cap.
