Rochester police investigate early morning crashes

A couple of early morning crashes on Sunday kept Rochester police busy.

The first happened shortly after 1 a.m. in the 2000 block of Ninth Avenue Southeast, according to Rochester Police Lt. Tom Kaase. Police received a report that a car had crashed into a tree. When officers arrived, the driver was gone. A witness told police the driver fled on foot. Officers attempted to find the driver but were unsuccessful.

Less than two hours later, police got a report of a one-vehicle accident in the 300 block of 36th Avenue Northwest. Very little information about the crash was available Sunday morning. Kaase did say there were three people in the vehicle and at least one was transported to Saint Marys Hospital for treatment. More information will be released Monday morning.
