Rochester Ward 5 candidate files campaign finance report

Joe O'Toole, one of seven candidates running for the Ward 5 seat on the Rochester City Council, filed his campaign financial report Thursday.

A story in Thursday's Post-Bulletin included information about the collections and expenditures of the other candidates' campaigns, but O'Toole's report was not available at the time. The deadline to file the reports with the Rochester City Clerk's office was July 19.

According to O'Toole's report, he has collected a total of $1,410 and spent $1,477 between June 11 and July 24 for his campaign.

Including O'Toole's information, all seven candidates have collected a total of $7,447 in campaign contributions. They have spent a total of $8,560.

The other candidates for Ward 5, which encompasses northeast Rochester and a small portion of northwest Rochester, are Byron Clark, Mark Hickey, Jerry Lemke, Shaun Palmer, Timothy Schmitt and Jan Throndson.

The election is Tuesday with polling places open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Absentee voting began June 28 and continues through Monday at the Olmsted County Property Records and Licensing Office, on the main floor of the city-county Government Center, 151 Fourth St. S.E., Rochester. The office is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and will be open on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
