Rochester woman injured in US 52 crash

ZUMBROTA — A Rochester woman was injured in a two-vehicle crash on U.S. 52 near Zumbrota on Friday night.

Monica Jebrin, 46, of Rochester, was merging into the southbound lanes of U.S. 52 from Minnesota Highway 58 when the car she was driving was struck in the rear by a van driven by Michael Kinnetz, 49, of Rochester, according to a Minnesota State Patrol report.

Jebrin was transported to Saint Marys Hospital in Rochester with what the report describes as serious injuries.

A passenger in the Jebrin car, Beninio Gore, 47, of Rochester, didn't appear to be injured, according to the report. Nor did Kinnetz suffer apparent injury.

The crash was reported at 9:04 p.m. Law-enforcement officials shut down the highway to allow a Mayo Clinic helicopter to land.

Members of the Goodhue County Sheriff's Office and the Zumbrota Police Department assisted the State Patrol at the scene.
