Rounds recovered in bedroom after drive-by shooting

Police are investigating a drive-by shooting that was reported early Friday morning in northwest Rochester.

Officers were called about 12:30 a.m. to the 1100 block of 41st Street Northwest for a report of shots fired, said Lt. Mike Sadauskis. Though the suspects were gone when police arrived, officers recovered two rounds that had come through a bedroom window lodged in the closet.

Witnesses told police they'd seen a red or maroon vehicle with two people inside leave the area shortly after hearing three gunshots, but not at a high rate of speed.

No casings were recovered outside, and the 13-year-old and 16-year-old who were asleep in the second-floor bedroom did not wake up, the report says. No injuries were reported.

Sadauskis said the shooting appears to be random.
