HASTINGS — Hastings High School has canceled its spring musical after a drama club party got out of control.
The district isn't saying exactly what happened at a drama club get-together in late March. The St. Paul Pioneer Press reports there were no drugs, alcohol or bullying involved.
Superintendent Tim Collins says about three dozen students attended the gathering at a drama club member's home. No school staff members were present.
Hastings Police Chief Paul Schnell says school staff briefed an officer about allegations of possible hazing, but nothing rose to a criminal level.
"The Pirates of Penzance" was to run later this month.
