DRESBACH — The 1.2-million-pound center section of the old westbound Interstate 90 bridge across the Mississippi River near Dresbach will be slowly lowered down to two barges Wednesday.
Work will begin at 5 a.m. and all commercial navigation will be stopped for a day. The eastbound section was lowered a few weeks ago.
The bridge is being dismantled and much of it recycled because the new one is nearly done. All traffic is now using one of the two parts of the new one; the final part will be done later this summer.
