MILLVILLE — A debate among the four candidates for the District 3 seat on the Wabasha County Board has been set for 7 p.m. Monday at the Millville American Legion.
It has been organized by Americans for Prosperity Foundation that its Website said is "an organization of grassroots leaders who engage citizens in the name of limited government and free markets on the local, state, and federal levels."
The present commissioner is Merl Norman who is seeking re-election. He is being opposed by Kevin Kautz, Brent McNallan and Don Springer. The primary Aug. 14 will narrow the field to two candidates who will face off in the Nov. 6 election.
A second debate has been scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday in the back room of the Huddle Bar and Grill in Elgin.
At the same time and date, a meeting has been set at the Millville Legion to discuss the county budget. Norman and Commissioner Deb Roschen are on the budget committee.
