Sheriff identifies logger

CHATFIELD — The Fillmore County sheriff has identified the rural Chatfield man who died Wednesday while cutting trees in Jordan Township, west of Chatfield.

Lyle Greenlee, 75, died from injuries he suffered in the mishap on Wednesday, said Sheriff Daryl Jensen. The man was discovered by a family member about 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.

This was the third tree-cutting fatality in the region this year. On Oct. 20, a Wykoff man died while cutting down a tree south of Preston. And in early August, a Rochester firefighter died while cutting trees at his home.
