Rochester firefighters responded to a residential fire alarm early Monday morning after a neighbor called for help.
According to Larry Mueller, assistant fire marshal, the neighbor said the alarm had been going off for about 25 minutes in the apartment in the 400 block of 12th Avenue Southeast.
Firefighters were able to make entry through an unlocked rear door, where they found burned food on a stove top that was still turned on, the report says.
The resident was asleep in an upstairs bedroom, Mueller said. Crews ventilated the residence; there was no damage reported. The incident was reported about 12:20 a.m.
