An outage took out many Wells Fargo & Co. ATMs nationwide Monday, but there were no reports of ATM failures in the Rochester area.
According to a report from USABreakingNews, about 700 of the nationwide 12,094 ATMs were out of service at about 9:15 p.m. Monday. Customers trying to withdraw their money found "Out of Service" messages.
A Star-Tribune report said many customers in the Twin Cities reported ATMs did not work.
As of 8:45 p.m. Monday, Wells Fargo officials said they still did not know what caused the crash, though the bank had managed to fix the problem at all of its locations.
"All we can say is that we're aware of the situation and we're working to resolve it as quickly as possible," said Peggy Gunn, a spokeswoman for Wells Fargo. "We apologize to our customers."
