State fire marshal investigate Lyle Township fire

Mower County Sheriff Terese Amazi said Thursday that the Minnesota State Fire Marshal's Office is investigating the fire that destroyed a home in Lyle Township early Wednesday morning.

Firefighters were called to the home at 5604 140th St. around 1 a.m. Wednesday. They found the house engulfed in flames. They cleared the scene in about three hours, with the home and an unregistered truck destroyed by the fire.

The house is just west of U.S. Highway 218 and north of the city of Lyle. A Glenville resident reported the fire, but authorities do not know who owns the house.

The house had no electrical power or running water and authorities do not think it was occupied at the time of the fire.
