Stolen vehicle torched early Sunday

Law enforcement is investigating after a stolen vehicle was found destroyed by fire early Sunday morning.

Firefighters responded at 3:56 a.m. to the 2300 block of 45th Street Southeast in Marion Township for a vehicle fire.

The blaze was quickly identified as "suspicious," said Capt. Scott Behrns of the Olmsted County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies learned the vehicle, a Hummer, had been stolen sometime after 2 a.m. from a business in the 3700 block of 40th Avenue Northwest, the report says.

Loss is estimated at $16,000.
