Storm hits Wabasha County hardest

Wabasha County was hit hard by Wednesday night's storm, and more than 2 inches of rain falling in parts of the county.

Mower County got the least rain, with less than half an inch in many places.

The National Weather Service posted rainfall totals Thursday from the storm, along with a description. It reported three phases — one from noon to 2 p.m. in northern and central Wisconsin and the next from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. near Eau Claire, Wis. and into southeastern Minnesota. A cold front moving three Minnesota ignited a third round of storms around 8 p.m.

Those storms produced damaging winds and flash flooding, according to the weather service, and street flooding was reported in Winona and La Crosse, Wis.
