Three arrested in Fillmore County meth lab bust

LANESBORO — Three people were arrested Tuesday in Fillmore County for allegedly operating a meth lab at a house in Amherst Township.

According to Fillmore County Sheriff Daryl Jensen, Heather Laine, 37, and Adam Laine, 28, both of rural Lanesboro, and Scott Sorenson, 42, of Decorah, Iowa, were arrested after a search warrant was served on the residence by the Southeast Minnesota Narcotics and Gang Task Force, the Fillmore County Sheriff's Office and U.S. Marshals Service.

All three suspects face drug charges ranging from sale and possession of methamphetamine to manufacturing methamphetamine. They made their initial appearances in court on Wednesday, the Fillmore County Sheriff's Office said.

The two from Lanesboro are currently being held at the Fillmore County Jail on $1 million unconditional bail and $100,000 conditional bail.

Sorenson was taken into custody by the U.S. Marshals Service and will face federal charges for failing to register as a sex offender, the Fillmore County Sheriff's Office said.
