Three injured in crash near Chester

CHESTER — Three people were injured Monday morning in a two-vehicle crash on U.S. 14 at Olmsted County Road 11 near Chester.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the rear-end collision occurred about 9:40 a.m. at the traffic lights in the westbound lane of U.S. 14 near Chester. 

Jenna Flodeen, 19, of St. Charles, a passenger in one of the vehicles, was taken by helicopter to Saint Marys Hospital in critical condition. The driver of the car, 16-year-old Alexis Persons, was also taken to Saint Marys. Her injuries were not considered life-threatening.

Morris Bisted, 75, of Denver, was the driver of the other vehicle, a pickup. Bisted suffered minor injuries and was taken to Saint Marys. He was listed in fair condition this morning, Mayo Clinic said.

Minnesota Department of Transportation crews closed the highway so the state patrol could investigate the crash.
