Thursday's MPR Connects event features new CEO

Jon McTaggart, president and CEO of Minnesota Public Radio and American Public Media, will be in Rochester on Thursday at a free public event to talk about the future of public broadcasting.

It's part of the "MPR Connects!" events being held across Minnesota. Thursday's event at the Rochester Art Center, 40 Civic Center Drive S.E., is from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Gary Eichten, Minnesota Public Radio’s "Midday" news host, also will be there to talk about how he prepares for the program and selects and interview featured guests.

Admission is free, but RSVP is requested at www.mpr.org/rochester .
