The Olmsted County Waste-to-Energy Facility in Rochester will offer tours of the trash-burning facility during an open house on Saturday.
The event runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and includes tours of the recently expanded facility and presentations about the county's solid waste management and energy production systems. It is being presented as a family event.
This year marks the 25th anniversary of the facility, which is at 301 Silver Creek Road N.E.
People who attend may bring used books for donation. The books will be donated through a charity or recycled. Donated books should be gently used and free of mold.
