Stewartville Fire, Gold Cross Ambulance and the Olmsted County Sheriff's Department, along with a Mayo Clinic helicopter, responded to a two-vehicle crash on Olmsted County Road 15 and 80th Street Southwest at about 4:30 p.m. Friday. Here, the driver of the car that flipped into the cornfield is taken to an awaiting ambulance.

Two cars collided Friday afternoon when one ran a stop sign at 80th Street Southwest and Olmsted County Road 15, according to Olmsted County Sheriff's Sgt. Bruce Christenson.

Tanner Yennie was driving westbound on 80th Street Southwest at about 40 mph and went through the intersection without stopping, Christenson said. He collided with Joseph Anderson, who was driving southbound on County Road 15.

Both vehicles ended up in a cornfield, and Christenson said Anderson was pinned in the car and had to be extracted by the Stewartville Fire Department. Anderson had a fractured ankle and minor injuries, and Yennie sustained a head injury that didn't appear to be severe, Christenson said.

Yennie was airlifted to Mayo Clinic Hospital — Saint Marys Campus by a Mayo One helicopter, and Anderson also went to Saint Marys for treatment, Christenson said. As of Saturday morning, Yennie was no longer at the hospital, and Anderson was in fair condition, said Mayo Clinic spokesman Brian Kilen.
