Two members of Boy Scout Troop 496 have earned the Eagle Rank.
Adam Welker, son of Dr. Kirk and Wendy Welker, is quartermaster in his troop,
For his eagle project, he led a project to build a "hug machine" for Bear Creek Services for use by their clients who have autism and other developmental disabilities.
He escorted Miss Minnesota, Natalie Davis, when she was the keynote speaker at the 2012 Gamehaven Council Merit Badge Fair.
Welker is a freshman at Mayo High School, where he participates in the robotics team, the mountain biking team, and the ski club, and plays the piano and is a percussionist in the school band. He has served in youth leadership at church.

Nathaniel Eberhard, son of Dr. John and Ann Eberhard, has been a patrol leader and a troop guide.
For his eagle project, he organized a project to landscape a hillside near a new handicap access ramp at Washington Elementary School.
Eberhard is a freshman at John Marshall High School, where he plays the saxophone and is active on the speech team and in school theater productions.
