Diners can help raise money to support local youth music programs at an upcoming Salvation Army fundraiser.
The Salvation Army of Rochester is holding its annual Harvest Dinner and Auction on Friday, Oct. 30. Money raised from the dinner will support Salvation Army youth programs.
"The Harvest Festival Auction makes music lessons possible for many families. When you provide an instrument and instruction to youth, they are given essential life skills, including dedication, patience, and group participation," said Paulette Frye, Rochester corps officer and auction coordinator.
The dinner starts at 5 p.m. with a live auction at 6 p.m. Several businesses and individuals have donated items to the auction including paintings, antiques, gift certificates, autographed photos from sports stars and tickets to local events. The auction will be at the Rochester Salvation Army Worship Center at 20 1st Ave. N.E. For more information, call 288-3663.
