URI scientists launch website on climate change

SOUTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. — A group of scientists from the University of Rhode Island is launching a website to provide information about climate change and its impact.

The collaborative effort with several agencies is called the Waves of Change website at www.RIclimatechange.org .

The Providence Journal reports (http://bit.ly/1hgXuxH ) that animation and video interviews are available and extensive science-backed information is intended to inform the public.

Also included is a section to ask questions and make comments.

The website says climate change and global warming are happening now and that people must start learning and taking action. It says temperatures are getting higher and storms are getting more severe in every season.
