Van strikes building after collision with car

Four people were injured when the van they were in struck a building after a collision with another vehicle, police said today.

The incident was reported shortly after noon Tuesday at 1902 Second St. S.W. When officers responded, they found a woman and three children who had apparently suffered minor injuries.

The woman told responders she'd been westbound on Second Street when she saw a vehicle southbound on 19th Avenue that didn't appear to be stopping at the intersection. The woman's van struck the rear of the southbound vehicle, said Lt. Casey Moilanen; she lost control after the collision and crashed into the building at the corner.

No information was available today about the condition of the van's occupants. The driver of the other vehicle didn't stop, the report says.
