Vandals shoot out car windows in Austin

AUSTIN — Austin police are seeking the public's help in finding whoever shot out windows on 13 cars in the city during the weekend.

Police Chief Brian Krueger said reports came from all over the city, beginning Saturday and going into Monday. All vehicles were parked on the street legally and had windshields, side windows or rear windows shot out with a BB or pellet gun, he said. It appears the vandalism began late Friday, he said.

Damage is in the thousands of dollars, he said.

Anyone with information is asked to call 507-437-9400; the caller can be anonymous.
