United Way Community Ambassador

Provide your time and talents for United Way’s work. In return, you will participate in a dynamic leadership experience gaining valuable management, consultative sales and presentation skills while positively representing our organization in the community. Volunteers are needed from

Museum greeter/ gallery attendant

Greeters are volunteers who welcome visitors as they wander the galleries at the museum.


These volunteers play a significant role in helping our patrons feel welcome, while making sure our artworks stay safe. Greeters are asked to monitor a gallery space for a two-hour shift.

Weekend greeters are most needed! There is a one-time, 2-hour training session to become agreeter and then we ask that you work at least one 2-hour shift per month. Catch them (climbers)

Folks want to soar to new heights and you can help and encourage them. Belayers (who watch the climber and secures them should they slip) are needed for our indoor climbing wall and our outdoor high ropes course. Training and equipment are provided. Nation of Islam volunteer

A volunteer is needed to instruct and/or supervise male inmates incarcerated at the Federal Medical Center in the Nation of Islam practices and ceremonies. The volunteer must be a "subject matter expert" in Nation of Islam. However, no instruction of anti-government, anti-religion, or anti-race will be permitted.
